Notes

1. Warren (St. Abner Without) declared redundant following the swine fever epidemic of 1926.

2. The name of Badger's Poke is thought to derive from the old Wenchostershire dialect of "Bidger" meaning "Bishop" and the corruption of "Poque" to "Poke". Old manuscripts say that the first Bishop of the Diocese, Crastin Poque, built a fortified tower in this part of the county as a refuge against Danish raiders, and that following its destruction in the Great Wenchostershire Earthquake of 1051, some of the stonework was used in the chancel walls of the 11th century parish church of St. Kevin.
